Product Description
White amorphous powder. It smells of formaldehyde. A linear polymer of formaldehyde. No fixed melting point, decompose when heated. The melting point of 120 ~ 170 ℃. Soluble in hot water and releasing formaldehyde, slow soluble in cold water, soluble in caustic soda and alkali carbonate solution, insoluble in alcohol and ether, highly polymer insoluble in water. Reactions similar to formaldehyde can occur, such as chloromethylation, and the formation of acetal with alcohol. Used for synthetic resin, adhesive, fungicide, insecticide, disinfectant, etc.
