Thread Storz coupling
Storz couplings are unique because they do not have male or female components like traditional threaded couplings. Instead, they employ a hermaphroditic connecting system, which allows any two Storz couplings of the same size and locking type to connect seamlessly. This design eliminates the need for adapters and reduces the time spent matching and threading different couplings when time is of the essence.

The coupling consists of two identical halves, each connected to a hose or a fixed connection point. The halves connect by inserting the lugs of one half into the slots of the other half and then twisting them such that the lugs lock into place. An integrated sealing ring on one or both halves ensures a watertight seal when the halves are connected.
