Description

   

      The body of the varistor is a matrix structure composed of oxide particles. The grain
boundary between the particles is similar to the electrical features of the bidirectional
PN junction. When the voltage is low, these grain boundaries are in a high impedance
state, when the voltage is high, they turn into the breakdown state. MOV is a
nonlinear device.
