Ore-smelting electric furnace is a electric furnace that smelts the raw material using submerged arc and resistance heat. The ferroalloy furnace, matte furnace, calcium carbide furnace and yellow phosphorus furnace are main types of this group.
The heating material and electrothermal energy conversion occur simultaneously to furnace burden inside the ore-smelting electric furnace. The heat source is the internal one with low thermal resistance and high thermal efficiency; the average electrothermal efficiency is 60%-80%. The material inside the furnace is smelted under theelectrothermal energy conversion and thermal transmission.
