What is a GFI GFCI safety Outlet?
A GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet is desined to reduce the risk of electric shock caused by ground faults by shuting off an electric circuit if the electricity is traveling outside of its intended path. GFCI receptacles work by comparing the currents going in and out and disconnecting them if the difference exceeds 4-6 milliamperes.
