PGA suture is a synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of homopolymers of glycolide (100%). PGA suture is undyed or dyed violet with D&C violet #2 and coated. PGA meets all requirements established by the United States Pharmacopeia (U.S.P.) for synthetic absorbable surgical sutures. PGA sutures are available in a range of sizes and lengths, non-needled or attached to stainless steel needles of varying types and sizes. The needles may be attached permanently or as CR-needles (control release), enabling the needles to be pulled off instead of being cut off. Combinations with needles are available which are suitable for application in a magnetic field up to 1.5 tesla. The needles are bicolour(silver/black).
