Incoloy is a nickel ferrochrome alloy designed for oxidation and carbonation at elevated temperatures.Incoloy alloy has many kinds: common such as Incoloy800, Incoloy800H, Incoloy800HT, Incoloy825, Incoloy840, Incoloy901, Incoloy925, Incoloy20, Incoloy330, Incoloy 25-6mo, etc.The alloy contains a small amount of the metallic elements molybdenum and copper. In reductive acid and oxidizing acid, it has good corrosion resistance, as well as good resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion. It has excellent corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid. The alloy has good cold and hot working properties and is easy to be formed and welded. The main products of this alloy are rods, tubes, plates, strips, wires and forgings, etc. It is mainly used in the chemical, petrochemical, nuclear and rare metal refining industries.
Monel is a precipitation hardened nickel-copper alloy with excellent corrosion resistance, higher strength and hardness, and superior performance over other nickel-copper alloys. With the addition of titanium and aluminum, the K500 has twice the tensile strength of the K400 alloy and three times the yield strength of the 400 alloy. This high strength can be maintained up to 649 ° C, while the material is ductile and tough when the temperature is as low as -240 °. Another advantage of the K500 alloy is that it remains non-magnetic at temperatures as low as -129 °C. Therefore, Monel is an ideal material for applications with electronic devices or embedded electronic devices where the magnetic field is an interference factor, such as downhole equipment. Monel also has spark resistance and excellent corrosion resistance, and is resistant to a variety of chemical elements and marine environments such as salts, bases, acids, and non-oxidizing acids.
Monel 400 (N04400) Monel Overview:
Monel 400 (N04400) Monel is the most versatile, versatile and comprehensive corrosion resistant alloy. The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas media, and excellent corrosion resistance to hot concentrated alkali liquor. It is also resistant to corrosion by neutral solutions, water, sea water, atmosphere, organic compounds, etc. An important feature of this alloy is that stress corrosion cracking is generally not produced and the cutting performance is good.
The chemical composition of Monel400 alloy is mainly composed of 30% Cu and 65% Ni plus a small amount of Fe (1%-2%). The structure is a typical single-phase austenite structure. Since nickel and copper are mutually soluble in any ratio, there is generally no intermetallic phase precipitation. Observing the microstructure of the alloy under non-etching conditions under a metallographic microscope, it can be seen that there is a very diffuse non-metallic inclusion on the austenite matrix, such as sulfides and silicates. Under certain conditions, the presence of carbides was also observed. Due to differences in chemical composition, it can have a variety of alloy grades, but there is no significant difference in corrosion resistance between them. Monel400 alloy is more resistant to corrosion by reducing media than pure nickel, and is more resistant to corrosion by oxidizing media than pure copper.

Monel 400 (N04400) Monel corrosion resistance:
1. Monel's corrosion resistance is superior to nickel-copper under normal conditions. It is more resistant to corrosion by reducing medium than pure nickel. It is more corrosive to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and carbon than pure copper. it is good. In particular, it is resistant to corrosion by hydrochloric acid and has excellent corrosion resistance to hot concentrated alkali. Monel 400 alloys have excellent corrosion resistance in fluorine, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and their derivatives.
At the same time, it is more corrosion-resistant than copper-based alloy in seawater. Monel400 is a deformable nickel-copper-based nickel-based alloy with good resistance to seawater corrosion and chemical corrosion, and strong resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. This alloy is one of the few alloys that can be used in fluoride. It has excellent resistance to oxide stress cracking corrosion in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas media, such as seawater and salt water. Monel 400 also has very good corrosion resistance in moderately concentrated alkaline and salt solutions. In colder alkaline environments, the alloy is used in weak acids such as sulfur and hydrogen fluoride.
2. Acid medium: Monel 400 is corrosion resistant in sulfuric acid with a concentration of less than 85%. Monel400 is one of the few materials that are resistant to hydrofluoric acid.
3, water corrosion: Monel400 alloy in most water corrosion conditions, not only excellent corrosion resistance, but also pitting corrosion, stress corrosion, etc., corrosion rate is less than 0.025mm / a.
4. High temperature corrosion: The maximum temperature of Monel400 working continuously in air is generally around 600 °C. In high temperature steam, the corrosion rate is less than 0.026 mm/a. Ammonia: Due to the high nickel content of Monel400 alloy, it can withstand corrosion under anhydrous ammonia and ammoniation conditions below 585 °C.
