PSA(pressure swing adsorption) nitrogen generation is implemented by the selective adsorb characteristic of CMS, and different adsorption capacity under different pressure.
When pressure arise, the oxygen will be adsorbed because its faster expansion speed in the micropore structure of CMS, thus oxygen gas and nitrogen gas is separated.
While pressure reduces, the oxygen is desorbed, and CMS regenerated.
This cyclicoperation let the nitrogen generation in succession.
Carbon molecular sieve(CMS) is applied in separation nitrogen from the air.
The cost of nitrogen generation under normal temperature and low pressure is much less than that under low temperature and high pressure.
Meanwhile, there are a lot more advantages such as faster nitrogengeneration speed, lower cost, etc.
Therefore, now it becomes the first choice for PSA nitrogen generator plants.

The air will be purified by compression to remove oil, water and dust, then be used by PSA device.
The compressed air flows from bottom to top through the adsorption towers, which is fully filled with CMS. The oxygen will be first adsorbed by the surface of CMS, while nitrogen will still go on flowing to the buffer tank. After adsorbing for a certain time, CMS needs regeneration as it issaturated by oxygen.
Regeneration will be implemented by stopping adsorption and reducing pressure in the tower. The alteration of adsorption and regeneration of the two towers makes nitrogen generation continuously.
