This product will fit all Suzuki fuel injected (FI)motorcycles which have on-board Diagnostic System connector.This connector is referred as "Mode select switch coupler" in the Suzuki manuals. Unlike other gear indicators available for your bike,this product connects to the diagnostic connector. It makes the installation very simple.The unit reads data directly from the ECM, offering faster and more reliable readings than competitive products.The unit is fully automatic,there are no buttons and no "programming wire", The display will indicate all gears correctly when ignition is On,side stand is UP and the engine stop switch is in RUN position.

Installation:
Find the WHITE,6-pole male diagnostic connector,usually near the ECM box.It may have a black cap,or "dummy" female plug (without wires) attached to it.GSF650 Bandit/GSF1250;under right side frame cover DL650 ABS model;behind right side fuel tank cover VL1500/Boulevard C90/Intruder C1500;behind left frame head cover Other models;under seat (rider or pillion) Remove the black cap or dummy female plug,and connect the Jxkj plug.Route the cable to the mounting location.Peel off the green plastic from the back of the unit,and mount the display.Secure the cable with the cable ties supplied.The unit is fully functional after installation.there is no need to setup. Troubleshooting.
Disconnect the Jxkj connector and check whether the pins are broken,bent or pushed out of position.Reconnect the plug, and make sure that all connections are good and the connector is fully seated.Make sure the ignition is ON,side stand is UP and engine stop switch is in RUN position when you test the gear position indicator.If some gears are not indicated properly,most likely the Gear Position switch is defective,modified,or a TRE box is installed.If the indicated gears are correct except under hard acceleration or braking,there is interference in the bike is wiring and the ECM receives incorrect gear position values from the sensor.This Jxkj model indicates the gear position as known by the ECM.
