Description

  Sodium Cholate is a general term for a class of choline acids present in bile. It is a white powder, odorless and bitter. Its alkali metal salts are easily soluble in water and alcohol. Natural Sodium Cholate are usually present in bile by peptide bonds with glycine or taurine and with sodium and potassium ions to form bile salts.

  Sodium cholate is a mixture of bile salts extracted from pig bile and is clinically used as a choleretic drug for the treatment of diseases such as cholecystitis and biliary deficiencies.

 

 

FUNCTIONS:

1.Sodium cholate can stimulate the secretion of bile from liver cells after absorption from the intestinal tract, mainly to increase the solid content, to promote the emulsification of fat into microparticles, and to disperse in the aqueous phase, thereby increasing the contact surface of fat with the lipase in the small intestine, so that Digestion is easy to carry out.

2.Sodium cholate can be combined with endotoxin in the intestine to reduce the absorption of toxins.

Sodium cholate can be used for Biochemical research; preparation of bacterial culture medium; for anti-inflammatory; non-denaturing detergent for extraction of membrane proteins.
