Q: Where is thickness measured from checker plate material?

When measuring the thickness of checker plate aluminium, the true thickness should not include the raised section, and should be measured from the thinnest part of the material. A lot may claim 2.5mm thickness for example but include the raised section in this measurement, so in fact true thickness is less than 2.0mm.
