Sicily Trip and Lava Stone Trekking on Etna Volcano Italian Travel Agency

Today explore a different area of the volcano Etna to approach its destructive force. Hike on a side fracture formed during a past eruption that had generated seven volcanic cones, all aligned one after the others. Continue to walk to the northern slopes to admire the power of destruction of the lava flow of 2002, massive and impressive, that burned hectares of forest. En route admire an extended birch forest in a lunar landscape. Time for box lunch. In the afternoon, reach another vista point on the Valle del Bove, to overlook this huge depression from another spot. Return the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Northern slopes of Mount Etna

Begin the day by travelling to the northern slopes of the volcano to reach the Rifugio Brunek via Linguaglossa. Walk along a mountain trail to explore different caves surrounded by rugged lava flows and deep pine forest. Time for box lunch. In the afternoon visit of the Etnographic Museum in Linguaglossa and enjoy a wine taste of the Etna wines. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Nebrodi Mountains

Today depart to the Nebrodi Mountain. Together with the Madonie and the Peloritani they form the Sicilian Apennines facing the Tyrrhenian Sea on the north. En route discover the famous Bronte's pistachios and overlook the Simeto Gorge. Continue to Cesaro and the Monte Soro, the highest peak of the Nebrodi Park. Time for box lunch. Walk along a trail that leads to the lake Maulazzo and the Bivieve of Cesaro. This spectacular Nature includes mountain ranges covered by forests of cork trees, lakes and mountain pastures. Return the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Peloritani Mountains

Today drive to the Peloritani Mountains, located on the eastern side of Sicily between Catania and Messina. Hike the impressive Rocca Novara which resembles to a Dolomite Peak. Arrive to the top, where a cross with a figure of Jesus is located and enjoy a breathtaking view of the landscapes that overlook the sea. Time for box lunch. Return the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Catania - departure 

Transfer to Catania airport for the return flight. It is possible to extend the stay on demand to visits the archaeological sites or spend time at leisure in a Sicilian Resorts.
