In the late 1950's, Mario Sambuco, his father worked in ceramic since 1917, founded the Sambuco company. Goals: conserve and protect the tradition by producing pieces in a wide variety of shapes and decorations, inspired by models and designs from Deruta's historic ceramic-making; express a sense of modernity, to reflect contemporary tastes.
The knowledge of craftmanship combined to precious raw materials and highly skilled artisans characterized the soul of "Sambuco Ceramiche". Every items can also be personalized or created from a client's specifications
The company exports its goods throughout the world and, since 2000, develops a research and development project entitled "Stilnovo". In collaboration with contemporary artists and designers. Goal: create new forms and decorations, to experiment with new materials and create new furnishing solutions and applications.
Every pieces are carefully designed to bring together tradition, beauty, design and functionality. The home furnishings line also features a rich selection of tables, made with a single top or with multiple stones or tiles, for both indoor and outdoor use. They can be mounted on solid iron bases made with traditional Umbrian craftsmanship techniques, or on bases made of wood, steel, or other durable material, depending on the client's tastes and needs. They can be decorated with any type of design, from classic motifs inspired by Italy's ceramic-painting tradition or with more modern designs. Each piece is crafted by the skilled hands of the company's expert potters. And thanks to their impressive skill, conscientiousness and talent, they can reproduce and satisfy virtually any special request, in accordance with current regulations regarding quality and traditional craftsmanship, using highly qualified tools and resources to design and produce the pieces.
