About Cathay Fluoropolymer Films

The unique properties of Everflon™ and Cathay™ films make them useful for many diverse applications. These transparent, thermoplastic films can be heat-sealed, die-stamped, oriented, thermoformed, vacuum formed, heat bonded, welded, metalized, and laminated with many other materials like elastomers and plastics. They can also be used as hot-melt adhesives.

These non-wetting, non-charring films have no electrical tracking and offer:
* Chemical compatibility, inertness, and solvent-resistance to nearly all chemicals
* Superior anti-stick and low frictional properties with high resistance to impact and tearing
* Useful physical properties at cryogenic temperatures
* Long-term weather resistance, including a high transmittance of ultraviolet radiation and other radiation (except for far infrared [FIR])

These films come in a variety of gauges and surface treatments.

Applications
Everflon™ and Cathay™ films can be used for various applications, including:
* Composite part mold release
* Anti-corrosive linings
* Nonstick roll covers
* Rupture disks
* High-frequency microwave circuitry
* Pharmaceutical cap liners
* Sterile packaging
* Cable insulation
* Photovoltaic cell glazing
* Anti-graffiti coverings
* Erasable surface coverings
* Fuel hose permeation barriers
* Hot-melt adhesives

Product Description

Cathay PFA film
Cathay™ PFA film is a transparent, thermoplastic film that can be heat sealed, thermoformed, vacuum formed, heat bonded, welded, metallized, laminated (combined with dozens of other materials), and used as an excellent hot-melt adhesive. This wide variety of fabrication possibilities combines with the following important properties to offer a unique balance of capabilities not available in any other plastic film.

Properties of Techyours Films

Chemical Compatibility
Cathay™ PFA film is chemically inert and resistant to virtually all chemicals, except molten alkali metals, gaseous fluorine, and
certain complex halogenated compounds, such as chlorine trifluoride, at elevated temperatures and pressures.

Low permeability to liquids, gases, moisture, and organic vapors

Electrical Reliability
Superior reliability and retention of properties over large areas of film
• High dielectric strength, over 6,500 V/mil for 1-milfilm (260 kV/mm for 0.025-mm film)
• No electrical tracking, non-wetting, and/or non-charring
• Very low power factor and
dielectric constant, only slight change over wide ranges of temperature and frequency

Long Time Weatherability
• Inert to outdoor exposure; no measurable change after 20 years
• High transmittance of ultraviolet and all, but far, infrared radiation

Mechanical Toughness
Superior anti-stick and low frictional properties • High resistance to impact and tearing
• Useful physical properties at cryogenic temperatures

Wide Thermal Range
• Continuous service temperature: –240 to 205 °C (–400 to 400 °F)
• Melting range: 250 to 280 °C (500 to 540 °F)
• Heat sealable

Reliability
Cathay™ FEP film contains no plasticizers or other foreign materials.
• Conventional equipment and techniques can be used for processing; basic composition and properties will not be influenced.
• Rigid quality control by Chemours ensures uniform gauge, void-free film.

Everflon PFA

Everflon's PFA
Everflon™ PFA (perfluoroalkoxy) fluoroplastics are available in pellet or powder form, and combine the processing ease of conventional thermoplastic resins with the high performance properties of Everflon™ PTFE.

Everflon™ PFA fluoroplastics are processed by conventional melt-extrusion techniques and by injection, compression, rotational, transfer and blow-molding processes. Everflon™ PFA fluoroplastics are ideal for wire coating and molding a wide variety of end use articles and components .

Products fabricated from genuine Everflon™ PFA are unaffected by most chemicals and feature superior electrical, low friction and mechanical properties and offer a wide service temperature range, up to 260°C (500°F).

Everflon™ PFA provides superior creep resistance at high temperatures, excellent low temperature toughness and exceptional flame resistance. Special grades of Everflon™ PFA (HP series) have been developed to meet the rigorous demands of the semiconductor industry for purity, low extractable levels and minimal outgassing.

Additional grades of Everflon™ PFA are available to support roto molding and other specialty applications.

About Everflon Fluoropolymers
Everflon® Fluoropolymer specializes in the production, development, and sales of high-performance fluoropolymer materials. It provides the most basic fluoropolymer raw materials for C&F Group's fluorochemicals. After years of research and development and production, it is currently PTFE, FEP,PFA,ETFE and PVDF materials, and can provide a variety of physical properties of dispersions, granules and powder to meet the needs of various processing applications such as spraying, extrusion, molding, injection molding.

Everflon® high performance fluoropolymers are widely used in various industries, such as electrical and electronic, chemical, mechanical, and medical, food, environmental, and other fields, to produce wire and cable, lining valves, pipes, fibers, coatings, and various products such as film.

Relying on the Group's Quality Assurance Department and Application Laboratory, Everflon® provides the highest quality and stable fluoroplastic raw materials to meet the high quality requirements of middle and
high-end customers and reduce the quality of raw materials caused by production and processing. Problems such as rising costs and inefficiency have established extensive and stable cooperative relations with main-stream manufacturers at home and abroad.
