Equipment principle
Automatic center drive thickener is a solid-liquid separation device based on gravity settlement. It is usually a cylindrical trough with a cone bottom constructed of concrete or metal welded plates as a structural material. The slurry with a solid content of less than 10% can be concentrated by gravity sedimentation to an underflow slurry with a solid content of 45% to 55%. The thickened underflow pulp is discharged from the underflow opening at the bottom of the thickener by the action of a harrow installed in the thickener at a slow speed (1/3 ~ 1/5 r / min).
The upper part of the thickener produces a relatively clear clarified liquid (overflow), which is discharged from the circular chute on the top.
Automatic center drive thickeners are widely used in wet metallurgy, ore dressing plants, chemical plants, and other production sites that require solid-liquid enrichment and separation. The diameter is 3 to 100m and the depth is greater than 4m.

With the help of the gravity of the solid particles, the ore pulp is divided into two parts: clarified liquid and high-concentration sediment. This process is called concentration. In the continuous operation of concentration equipment, the sedimentation and concentration process is finally divided into a clarification zone, a settlement zone, and a compression zone. The feed ore is fed through a hollow drive shaft, and a flocculant is added thereto, and the ore pulp is rapidly dispersed due to mechanical stirring. Because the flocculant is effectively used for stirring, the thickening effect is improved. The flocculated pulp leaves the mixing chamber and is injected into the pulp settling zone, and the solids in the mine are further flocculated by contacting the flocculated material before contact. Direct contact of rising water and settling solids is common for most thickeners, but it can be avoided by injecting material into the slurry settlement zone. If we can control the ore supply and ore discharge so that they are exactly equal, then the position of each zone can be fixed at a certain height and in a dynamic equilibrium state. At this time, the interface of each zone seems to be static. In order to ensure the smooth progress of the concentration process, the requirements for the height of each zone are: the clarification zone should not be less than 0.5 to 1.0m, and the settlement zone should be not less than 2.0 to 2.5m.
Features
(1) Add a degassing tank to avoid solid particles from adhering to the air bubbles, like a "parachute" settlement.
(2) The feed pipe is located below the liquid level to prevent gas from being brought in during the feed.
(3) The feeding sleeve is moved down, and a receiving tray is provided to make the fed slurry fall evenly and smoothly, effectively preventing the phenomenon of over-flowering caused by the residual pressure of the mine.

(4) Adding an internal overflow weir to make the material flow according to the prescribed stroke, preventing the "short circuit" phenomenon.
(5) The overflow weir was changed to a zigzag shape, which improved the suction of local drainage caused by the unevenness of the overflow weir.
(6) Change the shape of the harrow teeth from oblique to curved, so that the slurry not only harrows toward the center, but also gives a "backlog" force to the center, which makes the underflow concentration of the ore discharge high, thereby increasing the processing capacity. The thickener has the advantages of simple structure, convenient operation, low power consumption, and good technical indicators. The disadvantage is that it covers a large area and is not suitable for the concentration of coarse-grained materials, otherwise it is easy to plug.

In order to maintain the stability of the slurry sedimentation and concentration process, the speed of the rakers designed according to the linear speed of the edge must not exceed 7-8 m / min. For materials with thick ore particles and easy sedimentation, the linear speed of the rake can be appropriately increased. The granularity is particularly fine, and the linear speed of the rake should not be greater than 3-4 m / min.

The ore slurry enters the center flow barrel along the tangential direction, and at the same time, the design of the flow channel and the baffle plate can fully ensure the best effect of flocculation mixing and further increase the sedimentation rate. The narrow outlet of the bottom of the steady flow barrel and the feeding design can eliminate the flocculation short circuit, the impact of the feed on the central mud, shorten the settlement height, and increase the settlement rate.
