Pathogenic microbes such as virus, fungi and pathogenic bacteria are the main cause of airborne or direct contact diseases affecting animals and humans. Studies show the application of disinfectants and biocides via aerosol or fogging significantly reduce the number of viable infectious pathogens. Foggers produce micro droplets that float in the air for around 10 minutes after application, reaching the most inaccessible parts where conventional cleaning or spraying can’t reach.
ULV fogging equipment is used predominately for the application of disinfectants, biocides, fungicides and pesticides. Our ULV fogging machines generate a fog or mist formed of Ultra Low Volume (ULV) droplets between 5-50 microns (μm) in diameter. Studies have shown that droplets of this size are ideal to tackle pathogens, vector carriers and pests. In addition formulations can be applied in concentrations of 10-90% and at flow rates of up to 0.5 litres per minute (30 litres per hour) making them more efficient in the Volume Median Diameter (VMD) spectrum.
An ULV fogger operates using cold fogging techniques. To produce fog into small droplets foggers are equipped with motors that produce a high power, low pressure air stream. Same as with thermal foggers, the fogging solution is stored into a tank and when fogger is operating the fogging liquid gets pumped out of the tank. Solution then gets pumped into a special nozzle that is construed in such a way to give the air flow a swirling motion. A high air pressure produced by the motor helps to spray the fogging liquid trough the nozzle separating it into tiny particles. The liquid solution gets sprayed out of the nozzle in form of a fog or a fine mist. The particles size ULV fogger produce can be adjusted to output a precise sized particles, which allows to use the fogger in different applications. Also, because ULV foggers use cold fogging techniques and do not get heated to high temperatures, they can be used both indoors and outdoors.

The cold fogger provides a simple and versatile solution for pest control, mould control, and to dispense odourisers, sanitisers and disinfectants effectively and easily.

ULV (ultra-low volume) foggers, also called cold foggers, don’t use heat. Instead, they produce fog using pressure in one of two ways: Either the insecticide solution is pumped through a high-pressure nozzle or the solution is slowly sent through a vortex of high-speed air. The pressure breaks up the liquid into tiny droplets, which then spray out as an invisible fog. The motors are typically powered by either electricity or batteries but some models use gasoline. Operators can adjust the size of the droplets produced by ULV foggers, allowing for different uses. The lack of heat (and thus fire risk) makes ULV foggers safer for indoor use.

This creates an ultra-fine mist that causes an immediate temperature reduction without leaving the area damp or uncomfortable. Mist pumps can lower the temperature by up to 30 degrees in a perfect environment or 10 to 15 degrees in high humidity areas.
