The 3.2mm Coated Stainless Steel Wire Rope – regardless of structure – is considered to have relatively low flexibility making it easy to work with and has virtually no stretch coefficient.
Please use the combinations of the offered lengths to get the total length for which you search.
E.G. – choose a quantity of “8” of the 10M length to select a single length of 80 Metres.
All quantities of Wire Rope are cut and shipped as a single length unless otherwise specifically ordered with a ‘cut to length’ service. (additional charge per length of wire to cut to a measurement, coil, label, and wrap separately – see our services section on this website). Lengths of wire less than 100M are cut and labelled as a coil. Lengths of 150M and above are (generally) delivered on a reel however, small lengths can be put on a drum for a small additional cost (please refer to our Reeling Service).
Our international supplier is dedicated to high carbon wire and rope manufacturing. Their long experience of wire and rope manufacturing enables them to design and manufacture wire and rope with optimal balance between high tensile strength, fatigue resistance, abrasion resistance, and structural stability. The added bonus is that they provide a special treatment for bright and smooth surface of wire and cable to deliver a truly top-shelf, long lasting product that will look new for ages…
Three common wire strand constructions are:
1×19 which indicates 19 thin wires twisted together in a silky smooth finish. This total of 19 individual wires are twisted together in constructing a single strand of our premium wire. This is the least flexible wire structure and the easiest to keep clean. 7×7 which indicates a collection of 49 individual wires which are grouped as 7 substrands of 7 wires each – twisted together to form a single strand. This is a medium flexibility wire and is considered ‘general purpose’ and offers an economical approach. 7×19 which indicates a collection of 133 individual wires which are grouped as 7 substrands of 19 wires each – twisted together (could be used for ballustrading but is mainly used on cranes and winches where the highest flexibility is required and the maximum stretch co-efficient can be accommodated). …Simply put, the more wires that are twisted to make a strand, the more flexible the strand of wire becomes.

Application & Use
This wire may be mechanically – fastened or manually or hydraulically swaged. Cutting of the wire is best done using Parrot Beak cutters (collapsing trapezoidal design) Terminal Loops are formed with Mechanical fastening or manual swaging.Terminal loops must use stainless steel thimbles (eyelets) to retain the strength of the wire by distributing the load along the entire length of wire in the terminal loop (available here). This is best limited to 7×7 and 7×19 structures Mechanical fastening is done with Wire Rope Grips (Bulldog Grips) Low Cost Wire does not recommend this approach. However, if you choose it we recommend using three per terminal loop for safety purposes and this is best limited to 7×7 and 7×19 structures. Manual swaging is done using Ferrules (or crimps or hand swages) must be Nickel Coated Copper to avoid catastrophic swaging failure (aluminium swages WILL corrode the wire). A Manual All-in-1 swaging tool is recommended. This is best limited to 7×7 and 7×19 structures Hydraulic swaging is done using a hydraulic press – either bench mounted or hand held. Hydraulic swaging for architectural purposes may economically use a Professional Hydraulic Swaging Tool. These tools generate pressure ‘spot’ welds. Low Cost Wire strongly recommends that hydraulic swaging for lifting and marine applications use a bench mounted hydraulic press which can generate pressure ‘seam’ welds. This is best applied to 1×19 although it will work with 7×7 and 7×19 structures
