Stravecchio retains unaltered the quality, flavour and fragrance of the original techniques, thanks to the Botte Madre or Great
Barrel, the giant oak cask at the Branca factory in Milan, which is one of the largest and oldest in Europe. The Great Barrel is used for one of the most delicate stages in the production of the drink: blending of different lots of wine distillates that are aged separately for a minimum of three to over ten years. The Great Barrel at any time always retains 1/3 of the blend, which is then mixed with the new lots that are introduced. This gives the unique bouquet which has been a distinctive feature of Stravecchio Branca since 1888.

Fratelli Branca Distillery is an Italian company owned by the Branca family.
The industrial activity of the company, leader in the spirits sector for 175 years, began in 1845 when Bernardino Branca invented Fernet Branca, the bitter liqueur that would have become famous all over the world. The story continued passing through the development of Stravecchio Branca and Brancamenta, "historic" products of the company, while the portfolio was expanded with a policy of brand acquisitions, extension lines and the entry in the market of wines and sparkling wines.
"Novare Serbando" is the leitmotiv of the company's growth, based on quality, innovation and the respect of traditions.
