Special Virus examination :
Due to import laws of each country, phytosanitary certificate is always required when importing plants and tissue culture plants. To obtain the certificate, the imported plants including their packaging will have to be investigated at the perishable center at the airport cargo. Therefore, the certificate will be received on the day shipment leaves Thailand.
For some countries, a special virus examination is mandatory as additional declaration is required to be written on the certificate. In most cases, such additional sentences will be also specified on the import permit. Therefore, customers should make clear with their import permit officer if there will be any special requirements for all the documentation. The customers then MUST inform us clearly about those requirements. Otherwise, Orchids Farm will not be held responsible for any loss of plants due to misinformation with regards to your country's import requirements.
Please note that there will be a service charge for the virus examination of each shipment too. The charge starts from $100USD (not included in the documentation and handling fees). List of Countries that requires Virus Examination (as we’ve known so far) India, Reunion Island, Israel, and To be listed if known.
