The AOTOMO  known as the series Automatic Mahjong Table works by creating an electromagnetic force that repells the magnetic tiles. 

Once the tile is facing the proper side, an elaborate magnetic belt system is energized and the tile is attracted onto the belt system by poducing an electromagnetic force. The magnetic belt system will then distribute the tiles where needed.

As the tile moves throughout the machine, sensors on the computer count the tiles and directs the tiles to where they are needed. Once the system has determined that each wall has the amount of tiles needed to play the game as programmed by the player at the set point, the computer will give an audible sound notifying the players all the tiles are in place for the next game.

The player can then press simultaneously the two start game buttons on the circular located in the center of the table. The circular will then rise and when both buttons are pressed again the circular will recess into the table and the tiles will rise to the surface. The game is ready to play.
