Modified corn starch  is a cornstarch substitute, where in the powder is treated with

a number of chemicals and enzymes to change its chemical properties to such

an extent wherein it can tolerate more heat and act as a more stable thickening

agent. Modified corn starch replaces corn starch to improve the quality of thickening

that one expects in the recipe.

2. Application in oil drilling, used as slurry stabilizer and Water retaining agent

3. Application in paper industry, used as surface sizing agent, surface coating agent,

 wet additive and adhesive in corrugated paper
