What is stained glass?
Glass is formed into sheets and individual pieces are then cut from it using glass cutting tools.
These glass sheets are made in various different textures.
The stained glass with a pebbly or uneven surface provides a jeweled look to the resultant picture
when light rays pass through it.
The pieces of stained glass that are often used in windows where they catch the rays of the sun,
they are known as ‘suncatcher’.
Though stained glass windows are the most common use of stained glass artwork,
but it is often used in decorator features as well.
The well-known Louis Tiffany lamps are great examples of this artwork.
Today, stained glass art has become a very popular hobby
and a large number of people enjoy cutting and joining pieces of colored glass together to
develop attractive pictures and images.
