Malto-Dextrin Powder (MDP) is a white hygroscopic powder, moderately sweet in taste. It is produced by partial hydrolysis of starch by an enzymmatic process. It is the simplest form of sugar. It has a soft mouth feel and is easily digested. It finds extensive application in Infant Foods, Confectionary, Beverages, Bakery and Dairy industry.

The company was set up in the year 2014 with the aim of manufacturing high value Starch-based Sweeteners such as Liquid Glucose, High Fructose Syrup, Malto-Dextrin Powder and other such products. All these products are food additives and used in the food preparations industry extensively.

These products already enjoy a huge buyer market in Punjab and other neighbouring states and have immense potential to grow in the coming years. With the rising disposable incomes, the increase in demand of processed foods will lead to increase in demand of such products significantly which will further lead to higher utilization of these industries. Keeping in view the fast growing market for these products and subsequently their feeds, it was decided to set up sweeteners plant.

The by-products so generated from the process such as Feed Supplement shall be sold as a High Protein source to the manufacturers of Cattle, Poultry, Aqua and other such feeds.

The plant has been set up at Jagraon, Ludhiana District, Punjab which is in close proximity to several rice producing districts.

OUR TECHNOLOGY 

It is well known that majority of starch and its derivatives are manufactured by processing feedstock such as Maize, Tapioca or wheat with Maize being the most widely used raw material. The conventional method to manufacture Starch and Starch Derivatives such as Liquid Glucose, High Maltose Syrup and Maltodextrin Powder prevailing in the country is to process starch either by acid or Enzyme process with source of starch being Maize, Tapioca or Wheat. This is a very time-consuming as well as an expensive process.

Midas Naturals utilises unique Enzyme based technology as opposed to conventional technology being utilised currently for making the products from grains. The technology is aimed at successfully using a variety of agro-based grains (Maize / Rice / Wheat etc.) to improve project economics and ensuring sustainability in production.

Although it has the technical capability to process any type of grain in its state-of-the-art

DCS-based plant, Midas Naturals currently utilises Rice as feedstock for the production of Sweeteners. The grain is sorted and unwanted by-products are removed through a variety of mechanical processes. This ensures that only the consistent quality of grain is fed to the plant as feedstock at all times.
