BLACK GLUTINOUS RICE
Black sticky rice or Black glutinous rice (GAO NEP THAN) is a naturally sweet, dark rice that's more of a dark purple than black.
It has both fiber and loads of antioxidants—which only makes this baked rice pudding extra enjoyable to eat


VIOLET BLUTINOUS RICE
Violet blutinous rice or Purple Sticky Rice (GAO NEP CAM) is a naturally sticky (or glutinous) rice with a dark, shiny violet color that turns indigo once cooked. Often served with coconut milk, purple sticky rice boasts a naturally sweet flavor and chewy texture enhanced by serving it with sweet syrup, coconut cream, or fresh fruit.


Suggested uses
- Traditionally used as a Vietnam dessert rice
- Use in salads, stuffing, rice - puddings and rice balls
- Great as a unique side dish for seafood or pork
- Ideal for colorful side dishes






Cooking Instructions
1. Put 2 cups of Black Glutinous Rice in a large bowl. Add 6 cups of cold water. Allow it to soak for at least 8 to 24 hours. For faster preparations time, soak in hot water for 3 hours.
2. Drain the rice and put it in a steamer. Cook for 25 minutes or till the rice becomes tender
3. After the cooking process, you will have 4½ cups of delicious Black Glutinous Rice. Put the cooked rice in a bamboo basket or a bowl covered with cloth to keep it warm and prevent it from drying out.
