Breadfruit, sometimes known as "tropical potato", is a very unique tropical fruit that has a relation to fig and jackfruit.
It grows well in a range of tropical climes, requires little upkeep, and yields fruit quickly. Breadfruit trees can also endure tropical storms and are drought tolerant. It is because of this that it is a staple in the diets of millions of people.
Breadfruit has a creamy to golden flesh with a custard-like texture and a sweet flavor, similar to jackfruit, maize, and durian.
When cooked, breadfruit has a texture and aroma similar to bread, as well as a flavor comparable to potato, artichoke, and chestnut.
