Geranium oil or Geranium essential oil is extracted from the plant named Pelargonium odorantissimum that is from the Geraniaceae family. The essential oil is extracted from a different plant than its cousin rose geranium essential oil as this more expensive oil is extracted from Pelargonium graveolens. The essential oil has strong smelling properties with a floral aroma and a hint of mint. When extracted from the Odorantissimum plant, it has a slight apple undertone, while the Graveolens oil has a rosier aroma. Its botanical name is Pelargoneum Graveolens and its originated place is Egypt.
