The Koolhome Freezer, designed and developed by Koolboks Ltd., provides a reliable and alternative long-term storage technique due to the superior insulation and ice battery technology employed in the design. The freezer can function as a refrigerator or as a freezer, depending on the user's preference, because the temperature range can be adjusted according to the storage requirement of the user.

The versatile design of the Koolhome Freezer makes it suitable to be used to store various types of foods according to the approved temperature for storage of that class of the food. The Koolhome freezers can be used in offices, homes, restaurants, and commercially. Koolhome Freezers use environment-friendly refrigerant (R600a).

Classic Option All-inclusive comes with Solar Charge Controller and Automatic Switching Adaptor. The solar charge controller manages the power going into the battery bank from the solar array. The load side of the charge controller is also used as a power supply to the freezer. Automatic Switching Adaptor helps switch the power input of the freezer between the power supply from the solar battery (DC) and the power supply from the mains (AC).

Ice batteries:

• The essence of the Ice Batteries is to store cold energy in the form of ice during the day when the freezer is powered by the solar system and release the stored energy to retain the cabinet temperature at night when there is no sunlight to power the freezer. The process where the ice changes phase from solid to liquid leads to the release of cold energy, which circulates in the freezer cabinet to mitigate drastic temperature gain.

• Ice Batteries save the client between 29% to 41% of the cost depending on the size and type of the freezer that is in use. The ice battery innovation is mainly used in the medical sector for cold chain management. However, having recognized the value it can provide for the African market due to unreliable power supply, the Koolboks team decided to incorporate the innovation into the design of the freezers.

USB port:

• All Koolhome Freezers come integrated with 2 USB ports which can serve as the source to charge mobile phones and other small devices.

PayGo Device

• With the help of KoolPayGo, customers can pay via a token-based software application and enter the token in the form of a number into the refrigerator keypad. The system is remotely activated when payment is complete. If an installment is not paid, Koolboks sends a reminder before remotely deactivating the cooling device.
