In GOST 2787-75, there is a classification that separates the types of ferrous metal scrap and waste according to specified criteria.
The numbering depends on the class of metal waste:
1-16-steel scrap;
16-24-cast iron scrap;
25-28-out of class.
The latter includes scale obtained in the process of forging products and in the production of rolled products, additives from blast furnaces, and slag from welding.
