Specification
SMIT is a dispersion model for a realtime supervision on environmental impacts. Isolineshighlight the dispersion from linear sources (e.g. biofilters), aereal sources (e.g. deposits, landfills,…) or point sources (e.g. chimneys). Users can enable/disable sources on screen in order to isolate the causes of the actual impact, thus performing activities to reduce nuisance affecting receptors nearby.
Validation of results can be done with the OLFOSENSE Intelligent Sensor Array, our Electronic Nose for Odor concentration (OU/m3), VOCs, H2S and NH3. Olfosense operates as a standalone unit or as part of a complex network of multiple units, along with meteo stations. When Olfosense is deployed nearby a source of emission, concentration values are gathered by SMIT to calculate the dispersion plume; if it’s installed on the perimeter of a plant or on field, registered concentrations are used to validate and adjust the plume.
