A pelton Turbine often used in the water head more than 300 meters .there is usually a water reservoir located at some height above the powerhouse when used for generating electricity.The water through the penstock to nozzles that introduce pressurized water to the turbine.

The Pelton turbine that instead of moving as a result of a reaction force, water creates some impulse on the turbine to get it to move.

Pelton turbine suit to water head 100 to 1000 meters and with certain small flow. It could vertical and horizontal arrangement, nozzle numbers from one to six. Pelton turbine with feature of wide flow high efficiency region. It could start turbine with 10% of rated flow. Pelton turbine with one or two nozzles usually adopt horizontal arrangement, but multiple nozzle Pelton turbine adopts vertical arrangement.
