PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Mybodytree’s shea butter is naturally processed from shea trees growing in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Unlike hydrogenated oils, which are rich in trans-fat, shea butter is a healthy alternative, rich in vitamin A and low in fatty acid. It has 40 percent less saturated fat than palm oil, and bakeries and confectionery manufacturers are increasingly using it as a more affordable alternative to cocoa butter. Our shea butter is all natural and vegan friendly.

Mybodytree is a vibrant small business that produces and procures shea butter from northern Ghana to the global market. We focus on the production of quality shea butter and closely monitor each production phase. We work within the entire shea ecosystem from the collection of nuts to the production and export of shea butter to global markets. We partner with cooperatives of women who collect shea nuts and process shea butter in the Upper West Region of Ghana. By working with women cooperatives, we promote fair trade and socially impactful activities that bring better lives to the women and their families. We foster the development of enterprises and increase livelihoods in the women's rural communities. Mybodytree values women's contributions and dedicates its resources to empowering them. We pre-finance their collection and processing activities, provide training and equipment, and markets.Mybodytree works with more than 1,000 shea nut collectors. We create jobs for women by hiring more than 100 women in our semi-automated, semi-artisanal shea butter processing plant. Our plant's automation reduces the need for menial work and boosts efficiency, while maintaining the detail, quality, and artisanal touch of the women of northern Ghana.
