Illumina NextSeq 500 Genetic Sequencer

The Illumina NextSeq 500 Genetic Sequencer is a benchtop, compact DNA sequencer built with Illumina next-generation sequencing for higher coverage and fast sample processing. This genetic sequence runs one sample at a time, using a one-lane flowcell capable of 400 million reads per run. As a result, users get high multiplexing power while reducing overall cost per base. The Nextseq gives you the processing power and speed of a MiSeq but at a higher throughput.

The Illumina NextSeq 500 provides 1x75bp, 1x150bp, 2x75bp, and 2x150bp outputs. Mid-output sequencing kits also provide up to a maximum of about 130 million reads per run. Run times for this sequencer are rapid, with times between 11 hours (75bp single read) to 26 hours (300bp paired-end read). By using different kits, users can tailor the runs to their needs. These kits are optimized for low input, rapid workflows, and bias-free coverage.

The Nextseq 500 features whole genome (re)sequencing, comprehensive detection of mutations and SNPs in the entire genome, RNA expression profiling, ChIP-sequencing, DNA methylation profiling, and more at the touch of a button. Data is easily accessible for analysis and mining, to come back to again and again as discoveries are made. The user-friendly software and information tools make analysis and interpretation accessible for a deeper understanding of biology.
