Energy-saving Combine Craft Malting Systems for Caramel Malts

Malt & Malting

Malt is one of the core ingredients in the brewing of beer. Cereal grains such as barley, oats, wheat, rice, corn, etc. are the ingredients for brewer’s malt.  

Malting is the process in which raw barley or another cereal grain is made ready to become the main ingredient in brewing. The grain is steeped in water, then rested under precise conditions to encourage germination, and finally dried in a kiln and/or a roaster.

We have three configurations of malting systems, Drum malting system, Saladin malting system, and Tower malting system. These three different types of malting systems can meet various needs from major brewers, larger universities, specialist craft maltsters, craft breweries, malting companies, ranchers or farmers who wish to use their own grain to produce malt.

Yingtai Malting System Description

YINGTAI malting system have its own controller, providing complete control of the malting process, steeping, germination, kilning,  which ensures you can produce exactly the kind of malt you need.  

According to different configuration and capacity, we supply different malting system:

1. Drum malting system: 500Kg-10,000Kg/batch
2. Saladin malting system: 15,000Kg-220,000Kg/batch
3. Tower malting system: >150,000kg/batch

Yingtai tower malting system

Yingtai tower malting system is tower type malt processing line which adopts round rotating floor technology for the germination and kilning. This technology improved some questions, such as technology parameter control, labour strength, high production cost and high efficiency in very large scale malt production. It has high degree of automation and nice environment of technology control. One person can operate the system on computer. Hundreds of recipe can be modified, stored and printed.

Yingtai tower malting systems are with advanced designs. You can choose tall tower, half tower, or flat tower according to the capacity, space available etc. The systems have  the advantages of low noise,short load unload time in the round germination box, good ventilation and even temperature and humidity so as to meet the requirement of barley germinating and drying, to get nice malts. It has the best mixing equipment in grain malt making systems.

1 Saladin malt making technology:

This technology was invented by Germany engineer, it consists of cleaning raw mat-erial, steep, germination, drying and scale packing, its advantage: germination box is rectangle box, fan provides uniformity air from one end or side so as to achieve hu-miture control. Material transmission adopts mechanization, drying adopts single layer high efficiency kiln, double layer high efficiency kiln or round kiln. Drying adopts co-wper stove will be save 50% coal than steam generator. The annual output is less than 5tons.

2 Tower type malt processing line

This technology improved some questions, such as technology parameter control, labour strength, high production cost and high efficiency. The main process: the barley aftercleaning will be transferred to the tower top by bucket elevator, through steeping, germinating, drying according to the technology time , at last it will be drying, grubbing and packing, this kind of malt processing line could produce 100,000 tons for one year. Malt index is easy to control, high degree of automation,lower production cost, small covered area. But it need to invest large on building, it also need high level works for operation and maintenance.

3 Layout tower type malt processing line

Layout tower type malt processing line adopts round germination box technology, let 5 pcs round germination box placed on the same plane. Adopts transmission equipment under box transferring the barley to drying box, the best advantage is not only achieve all requirement of tower type malt making, but also save lager building cost.
