Acrylic acid is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor, corrosive, and strong acidity. Soluble in water, ethanol and ether, but also soluble in benzene, acetone, chloroform, etc. The melting point is 13.5°C, the boiling point is 140.9°C, and the density (20/4°C) is 1.0611g/cm3. The chemical nature is lively. It is easy to polymerize in air and can be reduced to propionic acid by hydrogenation. Addition with hydrogen chloride generates 2-chloropropionic acid.

Acrylic Acid Applica
1. It is used in industries of super absorbent polymer, addition polymerization of macromolecular and monomer for polyelectrolyte, organic synthesis, water treatment reagent and paper-making chemicals as functional monomer.
2. It has significant advantages as an additive in a wide range of copolymer-based finishes, coatings, adhesives, inks, lubricants, saturants, and plastics. 3. It is also used in the production of a wide variety of specialty esters, in drilling fluids and mineral processing chemicals, detergent builders.
4. Acrylic acid is prepared by means of polymerization or copolymerization, and is used in coating, adhesive, solid resin, mould plastics, etc.
