In urban power grid substations with high fire protection requirements such as petroleum, electromagnetic interference requirements and limited installation site, when the AC asynchronous motor is started under the rated voltage, the initial starting current is too large, which often exceeds many times (generally 5-8 times) of the rated current. In order to reduce the starting current and do not affect the power grid, the AC asynchronous motor is usually started by reducing the voltage, Reactor or autotransformer is commonly used.
