The principle of high-purity tungsten particles:

Tungsten should be called an additive, not a fluxing agent, because the role of additives is not only flux, but also heat generation, adjustment of medium acidity and alkalinity, stirring, catalysis, combustion stabilization, anti-interference and other multiple functions.

The oxidation product of tungsten trioxide is an acidic oxide with a loose volume. Its formation is conducive to the release of CO2 and SO2, and will not form a coating layer to cover the sample.

For non-magnetic materials, pure iron should be added.
Tungsten trioxide sublimates significantly above 900°C. Due to the escape of tungsten trioxide, the diffusion rate of carbon and sulfur is increased, so that the carbon and sulfur in the sample are fully oxidized.
After the volatilized tungsten trioxide leaves the molten pool, it transforms into a solid phase at 700-800°C, covering the remaining Fe2O3 in the pipeline to prevent the pipeline from adsorbing sulfur.
The blank value of tungsten is very low, and it can be used for the determination of low carbon and low sulfur. Generally, tungsten-tin is used as an additive in combination, and the main function of tin is to boost flux, reducing the influence of insufficient fluxing effect of tungsten.
