It is a chemical substance, colorless and transparent oily liquid, molecular formula is C24H38O4. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, mineral oil and most other organic solvents and hydrocarbons. Dioctyl phthalate can be used as a plasticizer in thermoplastic molding to improve its processability. Dioctyl phthalate is an important general-purpose plasticizer, mainly used in the processing of polyvinyl chloride resin, but also for the processing of high polymer such as chemical fiber resin, acetic acid resin, ABS resin and rubber, etc., Paint, dyes, dispersants and so on.
