DDPROTOTYPE can make rapid mold tools from Aluminum 7075, P20, and NAK80 semi-hardened steels and H13 fully-hardened steel. We also offer standard SPI finishes, EDM texturing and a range of etched textures including Mold-Tech® MT series and VDI® 3400 series.

Rapid Tooling Services
Rapid tooling, sometimes known as prototype tooling or bridge tooling, is a fast and cost-efficient way to carry out low-volume injection molding for a variety of types of plastic parts.
In most cases, rapid tooling is the most cost-effective option for an order of 100–2,000 units: too many for 3D printing, CNC machining, or urethane casting, but not enough to justify mass production tooling.
Insert Molding Services
Insert molding is similar to overmolding, but the substrate is not necessarily plastic and does not have to be produced via injection molding. For example, insert molding can be used to add a plastic coating to a pre-fabricated metal part.
