Bailey Bridges For Vehicular Pedestrian Usage

Bailey Bridges are portable steel bridges which have been widely used across the world, featuring a variety of spans, load capacity, light and handy components, easy to dismantle and strong adaptability that can be quickly assembled with simple tools and manpower.

Structure
Galvanized steel is a lighter-weight construction material than concrete, which makes it ideal for long-spanning bridges. Additionally, the production process has significantly improved over time. When the Golden Gate bridge was built in the 1930s, it used 83,000 tons of steel. Today, that same project would require only half the amount. Steel’s high strength-to-weight ratio makes it one of the most trusted bridge-building materials in the world.

Costs
Because of improvements in production techniques, the cost of using galvanized steel for bridge construction has also decreased over time. The amount of energy required to produce one ton of steel, for instance, has decreased by 34% since 1972.The galvanizing process additionally helps prevent corrosion in a much more affordable way than stainless steel, which means that the bridge will last longer with less maintenance. In fact, some experts estimate that, had the steel used for the Golden Gate Bridge been galvanized in the first place, it would have saved $319 million in maintenance costs to date!

Safety
Steel construction is more flexible than other building tools, meaning that a bridge is more resistant to seismic activity. Bridges made of steel are also easier to inspect for safety than concrete. And while galvanized steel has always been extraordinarily resilient against weather conditions, metals are now 30% stronger and more dent-resistant than they were even 10 years ago.

All these pieces could be assembled and added to each other in order to build bridges of various lengths (up to 67 meters each single span and more than 200meters multi-span) and strengths allowing the crossing of vehicles weighing up to 120tons.

There are two sizes of truss panels available in China,, namely 3m*1.5m and 3m *2.2m.  It can be assembled into 3.15m, 4.2m and 7.35m width single-lane and two-lane bridges. Bridge type shall be decided as per customer’s requirement, especially the span, width and load etc. factors. 

Three normal width bridges are as following:

• 3.15m width (model CB100/321): light weight and load, mostly used over middle or small span rivers.


• 4.2m (model HD200) width: marked both in metric and inch dimension, mostly used in International market over middle and large span rivers.


• 7.35m width (model HD200): two-lane bridge, widely used over various rivers.

Single span bridge can range from 6m to 67m, multi-span bridge can more than 67m with the help of bridge piers.  Load can be from 10t to 120t.

INSTALLATION

It is easy to mounting Bailey bridges without any help of cranes or hoists. One bridge installation can be finished only by hands of human power, using complete launching tools including roller, flat roller, roller frame, wrench and jack. 

We’ll designate our professional installation team to install, or designate technicists to guide the installation, according to customer's requirement.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

We will do pre-assembly and test before delivery, and issue the certificate of test.
