Single-row tapered roller bearing can bear radial load and axial load in single direction. When the bearing bears the radial load, it will produce an axial component, so it needs another bearing that can bear the axial force in the opposite direction to balance
Tapered roller bearing refers to the radial thrust type rolling bearing whose rolling body is tapered roller. There are small cone angle and large cone angle. The small cone angle mainly bears the combined radial and axial load mainly based on radial load, which is usually used in double mode and installed in reverse direction. The inner and outer races can be installed separately, and the radial and axial clearance can be adjusted during installation and use; The large cone angle is mainly used to bear the combined axial and radial loads dominated by axial loads. Generally, it is not used to bear the pure axial loads alone, but can be used to bear the pure radial loads when it is used as a pair of configurations (opposite installation of the same end).
The ability of single-row tapered roller bearing to bear axial load depends on the contact angle, that is, the angle of outer race raceway. The greater the angle, the greater the axial load capacity. Single row tapered roller bearing is the most widely used tapered roller bearing. In the front wheel hub of the car, small size double-row tapered roller bearings are used. Four-row tapered roller bearings are used in heavy machines such as large cold and hot rolling mills.
