Application
Industrial use: Used as heat stabilizer in nylon, polyester and thermographic paper coatings. Lead nitrate has been used in cyanide alchemy since about 2000. Lead nitrate is toxic and is an oxidizing agent, which is listed as a class 2A carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Therefore, it must be handled and stored with appropriate safety measures to prevent inhalation, ingestion and skin contact. Because of its hazards, restrictions on the use of lead nitrate are under ongoing review.
