Product Description




The increasingly strict emission regulations require diesel engines to use necessary post-treatment purification devices while using clean fuels and internal purification. Particle trap (DPF) is the most commonly used post-treatment technology for PM emissions.

The main part of DPF is the filter carrier, which is mainly divided into two categories based on materials: ceramic based and metal based. Ceramic based DPF carrier materials include Cordierite, silicon carbide, mullite, zirconia, etc; Metal based DPF carrier materials include sintered metal, foam metal, metal wire mesh, etc. At present, the most commonly used filter materials are Cordierite and silicon carbide.

The design structures of DPF include wall flow type, fluid type, etc., with the most common being wall flow type. This type of DPF usually adopts a cylindrical ceramic structure, forming many small, parallel channels in the axial direction. Unlike conventional flow type filters, the wall flow type filter structure selects either end of the channel adjacent to the filter layer to block, forcing the exhaust gas to pass through the porous wall to capture particulate matter. The gas flow path is shown in Figure.

Working principle




After the airflow enters the DPF, due to the blockage of the outlet, the airflow flows out from the inner wall, forming a silicon carbide DPF carrier, which traps carbon smoke inside the DPF. The lifting mechanism of the silicon carbide DPF carrier plays a role in collecting carbon smoke, with a purification efficiency of over 90%. Finally, the collected carbon smoke is removed through regeneration and oxygenation combustion.
