Methyl Cellulose is a long-chain substituted cellulose. The average molecular weight of methylcellulose is 10,000~220,000, white powder or fibrous at room temperature, non-toxic, non-irritating, non-allergenic, and the apparent relative density is 0.35~0.55 (truth to density 1.26~1.30). Methyl Cellulose is a hydrocolloidal and highly viscous derivative of cellulose, non-toxic and irritating, hygroscopic, and expands into a colloidal suspension in cold water. Methyl Cellulose powder is stable, slightly hygroscopic, should be placed in an airtight container, stored in a cool and dry place for storage.
