Spongean is activating at the field of natural sea and herbal sponges for three generations now, since 1958. It was established at the island of Lemnos, by Emmanouel Psarras, who was a sponge diver, harvesting sponges from the depths of the Aegean sea. After 20 years, his son in law, Varnalis D. Panagiotis, took over and evolved this family business. Since 2006, Varnalis P. Dimitrios runs Spongean, maintaining traditionalmethods of processing, as well as high quality of the sponges offered. Spongean is dealing with sponges from all over the world, serving the domestic market and exporting as well
