Manufacturing Technique


RIM(Reaction Injection Molding or Low-pressure injection molding)
RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) is an efficient and precise manufacturing process that can be applied to various industries such as automotive, medical, electronics, industrial equipment, and environmental equipment. In this process, low viscosity liquid materials such as epoxy resin or polyurethane are injected into a closed mold and chemically react under high pressure to form products with excellent physical properties. This molding method is suitable for complex geometric shapes and can also economically produce large quantities of products.


Common RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) materials include epoxy resins, polyurethanes, and phenolic resins. These materials have
low viscosity, strong flow properties, and can be filled into molds with complex geometric shapes by injection. They undergo
chemical reactions under high pressure to form rigid and durable products. Throughout the manufacturing process, accuracy and
stability must be guaranteed to ensure that product quality, production efficiency, and production costs meet design requirements.

Temperature
The demolding temperature can be controlled below 40 ° C, 
and the best performance is achieved when the parts are cured in an 80Cenvironment for 2-4 hours after demolding.


The production process of RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) can be divided into several steps:
1. Design and manufacture the mold, then mix the proportions and quantity of the two-component liquid materials to meet the
required performance.
2. Inject the mixed material into the closed mold through the pipeline, ensuring the accuracy and uniformity of the injection
amount according to the design requirements. The mixture undergoes a chemical reaction under high pressure in the mold, resulting
in a hard and durable product.
3. Take out the cured product from the mold, and carry out necessary processing, such as trimming corners, etc. It is essential to
conduct necessary inspections and quality control of the product to ensure it meets the required performance requirements.




Compared to other molding methods, the advantages of RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) are: firstly, it can produce
high-quality products quickly; secondly, the flexibility in product design is high, and molds can be customized, there by reducing tooling costs; thirdly, RIM-manufactured products are lightweight and have high strength, satisfying various application requirements.Therefore, RIM is an efficient, flexible, and energy-saving molding method that can be applied to various fields.


Case Description


During the CNC medical device prototype manufacturing process, we are committed to meeting customer's technical requirements. The customer provided 3D and 2D design drawings, requesting us to complete the production within 12 days, and perform spray paint and silk screen treatment. The customer also specified ABS material and requested color, while the tolerance range was ±0.1mm.


Material and Processing
Upon receiving customer's requirements, we take them as a critical reference for the manufacturing process, and ensure that the
work is completed as required. We used CNC technology to process ABS material and performed multiple processing and curve
processing to ensure that the shape and dimensional accuracy of the parts meet customer's design requirements. After the initial processing, we performed precision machining with CNC technology to achieve higher precision.


Surface Finishing
During the manufacturing process, we pay close attention to the detail control. For example, when performing manual processing, we use delicate polishing rods and cutting tools to process the surface of the parts, ensuring smooth surface, and removing burrs and sharp edges. In addition, we replace severely worn cutting tools and keep frequently used cutting tools in stock to ensure that each processing can maintain good quality.


Do more over customer require
To better meet customer's requirements, before performing spray paint, we perform sandblasting on the parts to remove dirt and
impurities, and increase the adhesion of the coating. In fact, the sandblasting process is also used to further control surface
roughness, increase surface area, improve bonding, and ensure the uniformity of the coating.

Inspection is equally important for CNC medical device prototype manufacturing. We use CMM and inspection ruler to conduct
comprehensive inspection of the parts to ensure design tolerance accuracy and product quality conform to standards. We strictly

Q10:Special explanation of the prototype quality?

Prototype is different from the general product, usually it’s fast delivery, urgent processing, and some aspects could not be achieved exactly the same as the drawings, we’ll leave the adjustment place for customers to do the assembly. And some designs on the drawings may not be realized by machining, the functionality will be weaker than the final result, this is a common circumstance of prototype, and it is not belong to the category of quality problems. In the data analysis stage before place the order, our engineers will communicate these issues with customers specifically.
