What is starch ether?
Starch ether is a chemically modified starch that does not contain plasticizers or organic solvents. It appears as a white powder and is mainly composed of potato starch. It has a similar chemical structure to cellulose and not only provides functions similar to cellulose, but also has good compatibility with other building admixtures. This product has a small dosage in mortar products and its main function is to improve the construction performance of mortar. A very low dosage can achieve high quality results.

Product features
Hydroxypropyl starch ether is a modified starch ether produced from natural macromolecule plant material through a series of chemical and physical reactions under alkaline conditions. Non-toxic, odorless, white powder, soluble in cold water to form a transparent or translucent viscous liquid.
● Starch ether, due to its special chemical structure, can effectively prevent the sagging phenomenon of thick layer mortar, which has a good improvement effect on adverse phenomena such as sagging in thick layer plastering.
● Starch ether can prolong the opening time of mortar, and the water retention of starch ether can remain stable with the increase of temperature. Therefore, when used in combination with ordinary water retention agents, this product can not only quickly improve the water retention performance of mortar, but also compensate for the disadvantage of the rapid decay of water retention performance with the increase of temperature of ordinary water retention agents.
● Starch ether has a rapid thickening function on mortar, which can improve the rheological properties and anti sagging properties of mortar products such as sprayed mortar and plastered mortar.
