Jiangsu Xietong Pharmaceutical Bio-engineering Co., Ltd. (short for Xietong Shengwu), founded in November 1997, is located in Guli Industrial Park, Jiangning District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. It is a new and high-tech enterprise specializing in the research and development, production and sales of lab animal diets and supplies. In January 2020, Xietong Bio-engineering (Yangzhou) Co.， Ltd. (short for Xietong Yangzhou) was estabished, which is now located at No. 20, Zaolin Road, Industrial Concentration Zone, Maji Town, Yizheng City, Yangzhou City.
The headquarters of the company covers an area of 20 mu, with a construction area of 4000m2, including 3600m2 production area, 600m2 raw material warehouse, 300m2 packaging material warehouse, 1800m2 product warehouse and 600m2 workshop. The headquarters has three production lines, including small workshop, medium workshop and automatic production line，the productivity is 50000-ton. In January 2020, Xietong Yangzhou bulit a new 100,000-ton lab animal diet production line. The total annual productivity of the company can reach more than 150,000 tons, which can meet the global demand for lab animals feeding. With the vision of "Making the Best Lab Animal Diet and Supplies for Life Science and Biomedical Industry", the company is committed to the development and production of lab animal diets and supplies.
In 2018, the company established a special research and development institution - Xietong Research Institute. The total number of R&D team is 39. Among them, masters and doctors account for 53.57% who are deeply engaged in animal nutrition, veterinarian medicine, food science, biopharmaceutical and other keyfields. The institute has 3 scientific and technological innovation platforms, including Nanjing Laboratory Animal Food Engineering Technology Research Center, Nanjing Laboratory Animal Nutrition and Disease Model Engineering Research Center, and Laboratory Accreditation Certification of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment. The Institute focus on the development of lab animal standard diets, disease models/customized diets, beddings and welfare products. For now, it has developed more than 50 innovative products and more than 5,000 formulations for customers. As of April 2024, the company has obtained 44 patents granted, including 4 invention patent, 38 utility model patents and 2 appearance patents. The institute published more than 100 papers. In April 2024, the diets induced metabolic disease models have passed the appraisal organized by Jiangsu Productivity Promotion Association, which proves these diets reaches the "domestic leading level".
