FAQ

1. Longevity of Home Storage Battery
Q: How long can our home storage battery last?
A:
The lifespan of our home storage battery is measured in charge and discharge cycles. Completing a full cycle every day is uncommon, but our monitoring platform tracks daily usage. Studies show that under our climate conditions, a well-adapted battery system typically undergoes about 280 charge-discharge cycles per year. Assuming a lifespan of 20 years, this amounts to approximately 5,600 cycles. Our batteries are designed to retain at least 80% of their storage capacity after 10,000 cycles.

2. About LiFePO4 / LFP Batteries and Their Safety
Q: What are LiFePO4 / LFP batteries? Are they safe for home use?
A:
LiFePO4, or Lithium Iron Phosphate, refers to the cathode material used in these battery cells, which rely on electrochemical processes during charging and discharging. We've chosen LFP cells for their thermal stability, technical superiority, and exceptional safety. These cobalt-free cells are environmentally friendly and safe. By selecting LiFePO4 chemistry, we ensure the batteries remain safe and non-flammable even under extreme conditions, with no risk of catching fire even if punctured or short-circuited, ensuring an extremely safe option for home batteries.

3. Differences Between Lead-Acid and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Batteries
Q: What distinguishes Lead-Acid batteries from Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries?
A:
While Lead-Acid batteries are less expensive, they have significant drawbacks compared to lithium alternatives. They typically can only discharge to half their capacity, requiring a larger capacity and more space due to their weight. On the other hand, lithium-ion technology, especially LFP cells, offers substantial improvements in capacity and cost, making them more economical in terms of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) compared to Lead-Acid batteries. We exclusively use LFP cells for their safety and longevity, virtually eliminating risks of overheating and thermal runaway, ensuring safety even under extreme conditions. Although slightly heavier and bulkier, LFP cells are ideal for domestic use and are cobalt-free, adding to their environmental benefits.
