Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitnde (PCBN) is sintered by CBN grains as key ingredient binding with metallic and ceramic in high pres-sure and high temperature condition. Compared with carbide tool material, it has higher strength,higher red hardness, better heat resstance and wear resistance.Due to these features, PCBN inserts are not only used for machining cast iron but also for hard cutting ma-terial such as har dened steel, roller.high speed steel and heat resistance alloy So we can get ideal machining precision and efficiency.
Features of PCBN material
Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride is sintered by CBN grains and binding agent, due to low affinity with ferrous metal, usually used in ferrous metal cutting machining. It can dassify as below according to its structure.
1.Kb55. KB10. KB95T are sintered by CBN mico powder,which have high content CBN and good wear resistance.They are good for machining cast iron,high temperature carbide,tungsten carbide etc.
2. KB30, KB21,KE61, KB50 are made of CBN grain and ceramic,which can increase bonding force and reduce damaging in heavyinterrupted machining They can be used to machine hardened steel,cast iron etc, which have good wear resistance,and strong toughness.
PCBN is a new superhard cutting tool material with high hardness, high thermal stability and high chemical stability, which is second only to diamond in hardness. When PCBN cutting tool is combined with turning instead of grinding technology, the metal removal rate can be significantly improved, and the same or better surface roughness can also be obtained. In addition, it is convenient to change the tool by turning instead of grinding, and there is no necessary time to correct the grinding wheel, so the machining efficiency is higher. At present, PCBN cutting tools and turning instead of grinding technology have been widely used. Practice has proved that the processing time and cost are reduced by at least 70%. We adds a new PVD coating to the original PCBN tool, which has strong adhesion to prevent the coating from falling off and realize stable processing. After the coating is added, the wear resistance of the tool is improved, thus prolonging the serviceli life.
