A wire rope clip, also called a clamp, cable clamp, wire rope clamp, U-Clip, U-Clamp, is used to fix the loose end of the loop back to the wire rope. It usually consists of a U-shaped bolt, a forged or cast saddle and two nuts. The two layers of wire rope are placed in the U-bolt. The saddle is then fitted over the ropes on to the bolt (the saddle includes two holes to fit to the U-bolt). The nuts secure the arrangement in place.
Stainless steel wire rope clips are used to secure loose ends of wire ropes and cables in rigging applications. Each piece has a rounded clamp (commonly called a U-Clamp or U-Clip) which is used to create a looped end on wire ropes or cables – which is securely fastened for safe attachments.
Wire rope clips use a saddle with two nuts to hole the wire rope or cable in place and can be removed and reused over and over again. These clips are also highly durable and corrosion resistant as they are made of Type 304 and 316 stainless steel.
